"TEEING UP" FOR THE 10TH ANNUAL
CAMPBELL GOLF CLASSIC

The golfing event is named in memory of John A. Campbell, Jr., who served as the Foundation's first Director from 1990 through 1998. Campbell's wife, Camille, is an active Steering Committee member.

Recording Breaking Results for the 2008 Campbell Classic

SALISBURY, N.C., May 9, 2008...... Shooting 22 under par for a score of 53, the foursome of Dennis Long, Mike Arehart, Jimmie Gentry and Clay Gentry won the 10th annual John Campbell Memorial Golf Classic on May 9 at the Country Club of Salisbury.

A field of 216 golfers played in six flights and two shotgun starts in the popular captain's choice tournament organized and hosted by Rowan Regional Medical Center Foundation and presented by Cloninger Ford-Toyota-Scion for the sixth consecutive year.

Flight winners were awarded framed art pieces of prominent golfers including Fred Couples, Tom Lehman, David Toms, Jim Furyk, Ernie Els and Tiger Woods.

Over 50 volunteers pitched in by driving hospitality carts, serving as hole monitors and providing assistance whenever and wherever needed.

This year's Campbell Classic generated an all-time high $110,000 in total income. From these proceeds, $5,000 will benefit the John A. Campbell, Jr.
Memorial Education Assistance fund for healthcare students at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. The remaining proceeds will help purchase a high definition video system to enhance surgical procedures.

Two tickets to the 2008 U.S. Open were raffled off to raise additional funds for the tournament. The tickets were donated by Danny Sink, Manager of the U.S. Open. The winner of the tickets was John Henderlite.

Since Rowan Regional Medical Center pays all expenses related to the Campbell Classic, every dollar contributed in support of this event is used to benefit the designated projects.

This popular golf and fundraising event is named in memory of John A.
Campbell, Jr., who served as Rowan Regional Medical Center Foundation's first director from 1990 through 1998. He died at age 42 on December 1, 1998. His wife Camille, better known as Cam and son Will are actively involved in the Classic.
